The day began with anticipation for the arrival of many French locals to hear the word of God preached and songs sang. Claude and Raymond’s garden was filled with laughter, testimonies, singing, and a few games. It was such a blessing to get to meet some fellow believers and share the gospel with others. Even though there was a language barrier, it was amazing to watch Christians share a bond in Christ by worshipping and praising Him together. Our prayer is that the French believers were encouraged by our presence and strengthened to continue to be faithful in ministry in France. Team member Yesung Kim recalls interacting with some of the locals by saying, “I loved the atmosphere of the services, and having the opportunity to share the music we have prepared. Another one of our members Daniela Gamboa, a senior completing her undergrad in Pre-Law, had the opportunity to talk with Mrs. Claudine, CEO of Prison Fellowship International France, about opportunities to serve in her ministry and any internship opportunities. She recalls talking with Mrs. Claudine as a “God encounter.” Not only does going on a mission trip provide opportunities for growth spiritually, but also academically. These are just a few examples of wonderful conversations that took place on this day. The French pastors shared the great need for young workers in the field, and getting to connect with different believers – with the unity through Christ that transcends language barriers – was amazing to experience. Please continue to pray for the team as we travel to more churches over the next couple weeks.” One other great opportunity that the team had was to interview some of the French pastors and others. They all sat down in front of us and offered to answer any questions we had about their different ministries in France. The panel was made up of two different American missionaries, a lady who worked in the prison ministry, and a couple of local pastors. It was a very sweet and emotional time with them as they shared their burden for the people of France. We are so thankful for the example of faithfulness that we were able to witness from these men and women. Please pray that the Lord would continue to bless them and grow their ministries. France is not an easy country to reach with the gospel, but we are thankful for those who are willing to do what the Lord has called them to do no matter what. Our hearts are full with joy and fun memories as we eat our last meal with Claude, Raymond, and Dominique, pack up the vans, and head off to Switzerland!
