Today marked our first day of Vacation Bible School, and there was an excitement in the air from the moment the children began arriving. Although at first the language barrier seemed intimidating, seeing all the children’s smiles and eagerness made all the preparation worthwhile and was a simple reminder that God does not call the equipped, but equips the called and prepares us to handle any situation according to His will. We started the morning by welcoming each child with a special T-shirt that they could decorate and draw on throughout the week. It was a fun way for them to express their creativity and feel a part of the group.

After everyone had arrived, we gathered together to sing songs and get the day started with energy and enthusiasm. We then divided into different age groups where we focused on teaching and practicing English vowel sounds. The children worked hard, and it was encouraging to see them learn and gain confidence as they participated.

Following our English lesson, we moved into game time where laughter and excitement filled the room. After the games, we gathered together for a Bible lesson straight from God’s Word. It was a blessing to share biblical truth with the children and watch them engage with the lesson. We finished the VBS day with an English review and a fun art activity before saying goodbye as the children headed home.

Once VBS concluded, our team spent time cleaning up, organizing supplies, and preparing everything for the next day. Later in the afternoon, we had the opportunity to visit Castiglione and enjoy some sightseeing. It was wonderful to experience more of the local culture and take in the beauty of the area.

We ended the day sharing dinner together while enjoying a beautiful sunset over the mountains. As we reflected on all that God had done throughout the day, our hearts were filled with gratitude and excitement for what He has in store for the rest of the week.
